Chrismas Home Decor by Rhonda van Ginkel

Christmas will be here soon, so we will provide you with lots of Christmas inspiration over the next few weeks. Today Rhonda van Ginkel has a gorgeous project to share that you could use to decorate your house for Christmas.

"Greetings and welcome to the blog, it’s Rhonda here today to share my project with you. I have a classic holiday home decor project to share with you featuring the Winter Joy collection by ScrapBerry's. This collection has some beautiful vintage images as well as coordinating embellishments."

"I found these cute wooden displays at a local craft store over the summer and thought I would use one to create a festive holiday decoration for my desk. The base of it is prepared with a cream acrylic paint.

First I selected my foundation paper that I wanted to feature, traced around the shape and trimmed to size. I adhered it with some Mod Podge to ensure a nice strong hold and then sanded the edges for a perfect finish.

"I wanted a good contrast to my floral background paper so I chose the Santa image from my tag and cut it out. To accent his appearance, I added touches of shimmer to his beard and the trees using my Wink of Stella clear glitter. I cut a small doily and pine branches to add to the design. A Cherry Blossom flower is combined with a metal bottle cap and resin flower to create a collage.

The sentiment is trimmed from the “Cards” paper. The edges are inked and the shape is formed a bit and adhered with foam dimensional adhesive. A bow using White Wax String is tucked into the floral collage for texture. I’ve used a cinnamon stick and lightly coated it with some paint as well."

ScrapBerry's Supply List:
Winter Joy papers:

Metal Caps Winter Joy
Resin Flowers 2 Fairy Tale
Decorative Brads Vintage Circus

Little Speed Demon Lay-Out

Today we will show you an awesome boyish lay-out made by Denise van Deventer. You will certainly love what she did with our wonderful Edge of Town collection.

"I created this lay-out for my little speed demon son. I used the Edge of Town collection, which was so pefect, because it is mascline and grungy.

"I fussy cut some of the elements from the patterned papers and incorporated these between the stamping and rust elements."

"I also had a lot of fun creating some rust effects on some washers, which were used on this page too."

Mixed Media Notebook with Live video tutorial by Yasmin Tölche

Hello everyone!
It's Yasmin on the blog today I want to share with you my little notebook I made with loads of Scrapberry's supplies and mixed media products Live on the Artists Live Ustream Channel. It's a Christmasy project and it can be used for anything, like your Christmas shopping lists or gift lists.

I made my book with Scrapberry's Christmas papers from last year's collection. These papers are called the "That Special time of the Year" collection.

I also made a shakerbox in the top right corner and added loads of detail. All the embellishesments besides some bits and pieces are from Scrapberry's. If you would like to see the process of making this, please take a look at the video below.

A little close-up of the shaker box on the book that I've cut out from one of the diecuts in the diecut sheet found in the collection.

Christmas Wall Hanging & Baby Cards

Today's blogpost will be one filled with lots of inspiration. We have five beautiful projects for you: Lydia Guijt is sharing a wonderful Christmas wall hanging that she made and Irit Shalom made three adorable baby cards.

Let's have a look at Lydia's gorgeous project first. She made this lovely wall hanging piece with the Once Upon a Winter collection.

"I started with a block of wood that I dry brushed with white heavy gesso. Once that was dry, I went over it with a mint green acrylic. Not being too thorough, leaving some white spots here and there. After this, I sanded some parts to create a weathered look."

"For the background I  used a die-cut that was the perfect size for a nice border and added a mat under it. I now had the basis for my winter scene. Time to start some fussy cutting. The boy and the girl are so cute. I used some sisal for the grass. I also added a polymer bench and flower decorations and painted them. I then tucked in a couple of chipboard snowflakes, so all in all it was a nicely layered project topped off with a nice silk ribbon bow. Everything was covered with a nice dollop of snow and it looks like our cute couple is strolling through the snow."

Fairy Tale Polymer Items Birds (SCB26002012)
Silk Ribbon White (SCB510202)

The second project is a set of wonderful baby cards made by Irit Shalom.

"Today I am going to share four easy cards for babies and the reason for making those cards is that I will be a grandma for the third time in a few days only. So as usual we never have pre made cards and sometimes we just need to make a couple in no time. With Scrapberry's wonderful My Little Star collection it's easy and affordable and you don't need to be a premium crafter to make lovely cards.
All these four cards were made in an hour!
Yes, I am not a new to card making. But even a new crafter can make a couple of those cards in one single hour. So this is the first pair and those are for a baby girl."

"I made the main image with paper piecing using the cover of this collection and 3D foam glue.
Everything else is just paper die cuts that can be made by hand."

"As you can see I added a bit of washi tape, some rhinestones and that is it. You don't need a card that is an artistic project. You just need a card that is flat to fit the envelope."

"Here I added a few small resin flowers and a nice ribbon bow in the corner."

"And now for the couple of baby boy cards:"

On both cards I added polymer clay baby embellishments and some twine. I also added dimension by using glaze on the papers.

Wonderful Work by Maja & Djamila + Video Tutorial

Christmas is coming near and this is the perfect time for many crafters to spend hours inside their craft room to create the most wonderful projects. Today we will show you two beautiful, inspirational projects by our design team. First, Maja shows you a wonderful Christmas lay-out that she made. Second, Djamila has a video tutorial to show you how she made a stunning mixed media family album.

Let's start off with Maja's lay-out.

"With November coming to an end, shops are already filled with Christmas decorations and gift ideas, scrappers and cardmakers share their holiday cards and projects, so it’s quite easy to get into the festive mood. And so I made a Christmas layout using the beautiful Winter Joy collection. I’m really in love with those gorgeous patterns and pastel colours! It’s a collection made for me, so creating this layout was pure pleasure"

"I first layered pieces of papers of various patterns and added paper images and tags cut out from the image sheet and then added some embellishments that include flowers, decorative buttons (I especially love the mat button from the That Special Time of Year collection!) and a metal twig that looks like a mistletoe twig to me. As a final touch I decorated edges of photos and some papers with artificial snow."
